Introducing imsg.dev: The iMessage SDK for real assistants

Palo Alto, CA · Monday, September 8, 2025

imsg.dev announces the public launch of a developer SDK that puts AI assistants directly inside iMessage. Builders can send and receive messages, stream inbound events in real time, and handle images, PDFs, and files. The SDK ships with a simple Python interface and an optional HTTP API so teams can plug in from any stack.

The problem

Most assistants live in their own apps. Users do not reply because there is a new login, a new interface, and a new habit to learn. The important work still happens in the inbox: questions, approvals, receipts, and reminders. If the assistant does not live there, it gets ignored.

The solution

imsg.dev brings the assistant to the user. The SDK runs on macOS and moves with users in the place they already check: iMessage. You can reply like a person, share a photo, send a file, and keep the thread as the single source of truth.

What ships today

  • Send text from Python with three lines
  • Receive messages in a live stream
  • Send and receive images, PDFs, and files
  • Work in 1:1 or group threads
  • Optional HTTP API for TypeScript and Node
  • Cloud compatible on EC2 Mac and MacStadium

Quotes

"Developers do not need another UI project. They need a way to answer users in the place users already reply." said the team at imsg.dev. "This SDK lets you ship that in a day."

Pricing and availability

The SDK is available today with a lifetime license. Launch price is $449 for the first one hundred customers. Standard price is $549. Buyers receive private repository access and twelve months of updates. Refunds are available for fourteen days.

How to start

Add the package and send your first message. Ship an inbound listener. Plug in your model. Links to examples and a quickstart are included in the private repository after purchase.
